HALFTIME: Georgia 17, Ole Miss 10

Ole Miss is playing well enough to have a comfortable lead. That would be the case except for a handful of key mistakes. Sound familiar?

Peria Jerry, in the midst of a monster game with two tackles for loss already, was carried off the field seconds ago.

So the list of starters now out with injury includes: Dustin Mouzon, Greg Hardy, Peria Jerry, Corey Actis.

Some of this stuff is hard to swallow. Sounds like the backup center has really messed some things up. You can tell that we are really missing some of our secondary guys. Peria Jerry injury is not good. Coach O sounded really, really pissed in his interview with Stan before he headed to the locker room. Not with the players, but with the officials. We are playing well enough to where we should be up by at least a field goal or touchdown, but as usual, penalties and horrible mistakes keep us out of the endzone. Also sounds like it is the same ole story with the RZ offense, no problem getting close, but we blow up when when get inside the 20. But it is just 17 to 10 and we get the ball back, so lets not give up yet, lots of football to play yet.

It just keeps on getting better and better. As the bodies continue to pile up, I’m afraid the points for the Home team will continue to go up too. Unfortunately for us, the score, the breaks, the injuries, the calls, keep on going against us.

PA & Oxford - other than this piece of crap Gametracker that has huge holes in plays and yardage, etc. I’m deaf & blind (there’s just not an Ole Miss Radio station in Tuscaloosa, surprising, huh?). What is the deal with the calls? Are we getting hosed too?

Ed told radio he asked for a review of Green’s catch that might have been a touchdown but did not receive it. The PF against Lewis was not the worst call I’ve seen but was questionable. It was a definite hold that I just saw on this second half kick that will push things back more.

Our play calling sucks in the red zone. I’m not even there to see it but I can read it. How many 4th & 1’s are we going to have this year?

  5. m4rebs Says:

So much for the conventional offense making a difference on our defense. Maybe it’s the injuries…..it’s just BIG CHUNKS of yards on every play. 11 / 16 / 10 / 25 / 5 / 9 /4TD. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out we are giving up a first down per play on average.

We might be happy to see a spread offense after this outing. The passing game of GA hasn’t been great, but they have ran it down our throats and out our…. Too many mistakes and injuries I think, Hardy and Mouzon have came back in the game, but haven’t done much. They are probably playing in pain.

It just got uglier, Adams just through a pick, they’re in UM territory, that pretty much sealed the deal. Alot of time let but not enough to overcome 14 and whatever they score after the int.

    Oh well, another loss.

Well… we fought for a little while. I am fixin to listen to the post game, I’ll post a little later what coach o says bout the game.

I hate being right about this team.

    lol

What is up with GA running up the score (I’m only talking about the last TD with a minute to play)? I used to have respect for Richt.

Coach O was obviously pissed after the game and I think it was mainly directed at the defense. Coach O usually tries to say positive things after a loss, but there wasn’t much of that this time. He said he thought the offense played well in general, but that he is “…really disappointed in the defense” and that “we don’t have the right people in there…we gotta do a better job of recruiting and finding the right guys”.

I agree with him, but I hope we kind find a combination of the right people BEFORE we have to wait on another recruiting class.

Peria Jerry had a good game, but the secondary play and linebacker play was atrocious.

I honestly think that we have an offense that can win ballgames, but without a balance of good defensive play and redzone offense, it makes it really tough.

  12. djrebel Says:

OR, I agree with you on the offense with some minor stipulations. They have to get better.

They have some playmakers, and as inconsistent as the OL has been, that was a pretty good defense they ran on today. And they did not give up a sack.

That being said, they have to score in the 30s for this team to win any games.

Ed was indeed mad after the game, as you figured out.

I asked him why Greg Hardy didn’t start and got a quick no comment. Obviously it wasn’t injury. That would seem to indicate it was some type of suspension.
