I don’t know why the smiley has inserted itself there, but it has and I can’t get it out, so just be happy.

You most likely typed “:” followed immediately by “)”, many of the blog providers’ software automatically translate “unlikely” keystrokes to their pictogram equivalents

Thanks Eglin, I’ll check that out. If Smiley remains you’ll know I’ve still been unable to figure it out.

For what this is worth, probably nothing, but in yesterday’s USA Today was an article about Orgeon State. Last season with a 10-14 league record and sixth-place finish they turned this record into the launching pad for a national champship. If they can do it, why can’t Ole Miss? The Rebels have the manpower, just getting that manpower in sync and producing. Why not? Go for it Rebels!!

Actually, I think it is the numeral 8, followed by a closed parenthesis that does it to you.

I’ll test it here. If it shows up as a smiley face, then we know what the problem is:

    8)

  5. Kurt Says:

    I was right.

BTW, I am a proponent of the “as soon as we lose a game, Bittle starts the next one” strategy this weekend. We cannot afford to have our ace maybe not pitch a significant amount of innings in the biggest weekend of the year.

Of course, If we lead by 1 run after 6 or 7 on Friday, he has to go in then.

FWIW, I live in Cincy and will be at the games this weekend, Lord willing.

  6. djrebel Says:

Kurt, thanks for clearing that up. I never took keystroke-ology at my alma mater, the University formerly known as Northeast Louisiana.

I’m all about Bittle being on the field as much as possible. That falls under the heading of getting your best players out there as much as you can.

I’m looking forward to covering Ole Miss basketball against Louisville in Cincinnati next season.

    words of wisdom, meth man.

  9. Danny Says:

Is Ole Miss doing so well you’ve added smiley faces, or is it that MSU is doing the opposite

  10. djrebel Says:

Well, certainly it isn’t the first half of that theory. Actually, my man Kurt from Cincinnati cleared that up and said the keystroke combination of numeral 8 followed by a closed parenthesis 8) creates a smiley face, and since both State and Ole Miss need a reason to smile I just left it. How are things in the great Midwest? Lots of smiles for you guys? Has everyone simmered down about my football analysis?
