State’s about to honor its seniors as the MSU and Arkansas get ready for Game 2. It’s one of those odd times when Ole Miss fans need to cheer for the Bulldogs.
Ole Miss and Kentucky are under way in Lexington, and from what I can tell, the Rebels are not losing yet.
Post your Ole Miss updates below if you’ve got them.

Two sub-4 ERAs pitching here tonight. State’s John Lalor, a relief pitcher, is making only his second start, as Ron Polk tries to field a more competitive rotation. Ricky Bowen did a nice job in his start last night.
State’s highest BA in the starting lineup is catcher Ryan Duffy at .310, the lowest DH Jeff Flagg at .156.

It’s 4-0 Cats in Lexington. Pomeranz is out of the game. He went 3 1-3 and gave up seven hits, one a home run. Jake Morgan is pitching for Ole Miss.

7-0 Cats. Rebels batting in the fifth. Still no score here. Arkansas has a runner on first with 1 out in the fourth.

7-0 Cats bottom 7. Doesn’t look like the Bittle Button will be pushed today. … State didn’t get a hit till just now in the fifth inning but got three and pushed across a run to tie the game at 1.

I don’t think many buttons are being pushed with this team. We continue to run out the same lineup (except we’ve alternated SS’s). We continue to run out the same rotation. We don’t hit and run. We rarely steal, etc. Smith continues to hit 5th with almost no production the last month. I just don’t get it. We do the same things and expect different results. A few years ago that wouldn’t have been so. This has been, by far, the most boring season in a long time. Almost no adjustments seem to have been made save the mid-season cameo by Jeremy Travis. Bianco said it himself a week or so back … waiting for the team to “get hot at the right time.” Well, it’s just about too late.
I hope we push the Bittle button in the top of the first tomorrow. Nothing against Cody. But the way this team is playing, if we don’t push it at the beginning, we may end our season with a road sweep in which our Clemens Award semi-finalist never sees meaningful innings. I’d hate to see it, but I will predict it’s what happens. Bittle will pitch at some point, but only after the Cats jump all over us in the first 3-4 innings and the game is out of reach. Maybe that rpediction is a littel frustration after sitting on cold bleachers the last two nights watching a colder team. But it’s also pretty realistic given what we have seen for 55 games.

Ole Miss may have just miss the last bus to hoover and NCAA.

WOW! Arkansas is trying to give us a gift … blowing a 3 run lead in the 9th! We can still reach the tournament if they lose tomorrow … even if we get swept. Part of me almost wishes that would happen. Maybe not making Hoover would light a fire under the coaching staff and returning players.
But … I’d still rather make Hoover and have a chance to see us “get hot”. Once a fan, always a fan, I guess.

We’re doing our part. Guess we COULD sweep tomorrow, but why don’t yall just take the pressure off of us and win?

From what I can make out at SECSports, an Arkansas win today and the Rebel season is probably over. Ark and SC, both hold an edge over the Rebels.
Yes Draws, MS has done its job, just that the Rebels have not do theirs. So, today, it could be it for the Rebels this season.
And, Kurt, I too, once a Rebel fan, always a fan. Seen many, many. many ups and downs in Ole Miss football, basketball, and baseball. So, nothing they do really surprises me, I just hang in and hope.

JB,
Arkansas is 1/2 game behind us. If the Rebs win today, they’re in. If the rebs lose, Arkansas is in with a win… Rebs stay in with another Arkansas loss.

5-5 after 10 complete.
Rebs and Cats won’t give up.

Scott Bittle can in relief 7+. Pitched outstandingly. Rebs got the hits need for the win – great win. Hoover here come the Johnny Rebs. Hoover has been great place for one my grandsons in soccer play, just maybe the Rebs can find the same success.
