  2. Jimmy Barbee Says:

    Thanks Draws.

  3. oxfordrebel Says:

no espn here, will someone please post what seed we get and where when it becomes available. i checked out and they don’t have a live presser online…

  4. Raleighrebel Says:

We’re playing at Miami. We’re the #3 seed, playing Missouri.

  5. oxfordrebel Says:

thanks raleigh, i saw in a regional projection a day or so ago that some guy at espn had us playing at AZ St. and I thought that was about as bad as it could get….looks like i thought wrong…

  6. oxfordrebel Says:

and I was also hoping for a 2 seed, wrong again…

  7. Raleighrebel Says:

NP. I was really hoping they would be playing in the Raleigh or Cary regional so I could go watch them play. Don’t think I’ll be making the trip down to Miami.

  8. rebfan06 Says:

Well we get screwed again in where we were placed. Thanks Larry Templeton for screwing us again Im glad your getting FIRED like you deserve.

  9. rebelnate Says:

We have hosted 4 years in a row and couldn’t get to Omaha. We have played like a 3 seed all year and that what we got. I don’t think we got screwed by Templeton.

rebfan06 what did you think we should have gotten?

  10. rebels 93 Says:

Look at where AL, AR, and KY were sent and seeded. By that comparison I think everyone will agree that we got screwed. Yes, we’re a 3 seed but shouldn’t be sent to the nat’l no. 1 seed.

  11. Bruce Dickinson Says:

Rebs 93. We lost the regular season series to AL, AR and KY. We’re a 3 seed and exactly were we deserved to be.

I have been following Ole Miss for 20 years and our fans will always find something to complain about. We made the post season for the 5th consecutive season. Hadn’t done that in a while. Yeah we were highly ranked but our fans don’t realize how tough it is to win in this conferemce. We’re a top 25 team and guess what we’re the 8th or 9th best team in the SEC. Just the way it is. Be happy and stop complaining.

  12. tcfan Says:

Even the Miami fans are complaining. Ole Miss isn’t the only team that thinks they got a raw deal either. Even Mizzou fans are on their message boards wondering how the Coral Gables Regional is that tough.

  13. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Well put, Bruce, but I do have a few years on you tho.

  14. bigdraws Says:

Hey rebfan, what a short memory you have. We went to Miami several years ago.

  15. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Miami fans complaining, Ole Miss fans comlaining, Mizzou fans complaining, so it appears that the only happy fans that are not complaining are those from that small college of Bethune-Cookman. I would say that they are a happy bunch of fans, just happy to make the trip into a regional playoff. So many unthankful and complaining fans , what a shame. Could it be that we might see Bethune-Cookman reaching the super regional; leaving all those complaining fans behind playing in that dirty beach sand of Coral Gales.

  16. farley662 Says:

If memory serves me, didn’t you Rebs host the Supers with Texas and Miami? Then blew it and stayed home? Would it have been better if you went there and lost? And last year, come on! No way you should have hosted compared to ASU. Just be happy you are still playing instead of still having to get rid of the ghosts of baseballs past!

  17. R&BREB Says:

    Farley –

Blew it? No we got beat by two real good teams. We never had the competitive advantage of a Miami coach making a huge pitching mistake when we played them.

As far as the ghosts of baseball past……well, keep living in your historical world. We don’t want to go there. All programs cycle and State is right in the middle of a huge one.

We may be 2 and out, but we are playing in the NCAA Regional Tournament with a real tough weekend coming up. That beats the alternative. And from a historical perspective………..we are playing at least two more.

  18. Jay Stokes Says:

farley, nobody really cares what you have to say on this blog.

  19. farley662 Says:

    JB does.

  20. va reb Says:

Let’s just go win three and everybody will be happy.

  21. djrebel Says:

Missouri might be a tougher draw for Ole Miss than Miami. I have an easier time seeing the Rebels put together a good pitching effort to beat the Canes than I do seeing them reach their four-run threshold against Aaron Crow. Crow’s given up 28 earned runs (98 2-3 IP), so obviously someone has scored on him, but offense still isn’t Ole Miss’ strength.

Perhaps Lynn will come out with another Georgia-like performance in the regional opener. I think it will take that to beat Crow.

  22. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Yes siree Bob, Farley a man of wisdon and excitement.

  23. rebelnate Says:

I care what farley has to say Jay Stokes

  24. oxfordrebel Says:

of course you do nate, you spend more time on gregg’s blog than over here, i’ve seen you bash PA and his reporting, it’s easy to see you’re just a dawg with a rebel name

  25. rebelnate Says:

    I appreciate your honesty oxfordrebel

  26. jaybirdms Says:

    nate’s not a state fan.

When Texas came to Oxford a few years ago, weren’t they a 2 seed in the regional round? I was thinking that they went to Arkansas as a 2 seed, and won that regional, before coming to oxford. I don’t know if I’m right about that or not. Can someone please clarify?

  27. djrebel Says:

Texas hosted the regional that year. Arkansas played well and almost won it. I think Texas was a 1 then.

  28. jaybirdms Says:

  30. rebelnate Says:
