FYI: Clemens finalists have Coral Gables flavor

HOUSTON — Aaron Crow of Missouri, Joshua Fields of Georgia, Chris Hernandez of Miami (Fla.) and Brian Matusz of San Diego have been selected as finalists for The Roger Clemens Award, which honors the top pitcher in college baseball. The winner will be announced this summer in Houston.

This is the lead from the press release by the Clemens Award folks.

It should be noted that two of the four finalists were participants in the Coral Gables Regional. I would contend that Scott Bittle deserves a spot in that four.

Then you throw in the Bethune starters, and that was really a pitching-heavy regional.
