Interesting read to say the least.

Pa, are promoting gambling now? LOL I could use a few extra bucks!

What’s the name of the story? I couldn’t find it.

  3. djrebel Says:

The story is headlined “College football primer: The best bet in the SEC”

If you’re having trouble with the link you should be able to locate the story at http://www.covers.com.

It was published on June 11.

Have any of the baseball guys drafted signed yet?

  5. djrebel Says:

I think that’s played itself out. I know Lynn and Bittle signed. Haven’t heard on Satterwhite, but I imagine he will.

The wildcards in the bunch were Guerrero and Power. Guerrero goes, Power stays.

that was a good read PA, i really found the comments on Nutt interesting.

  7. Jeff Jolly Says:

Ditto that Rebelfan. I think the Rebs are going to be the surprise team of the league this year. I’m not predicting a major bowl or anything. I just think the team will play a lot better and win some games they are not supposed to going into the season. It all depends on what happens in the 1st four games. I do think a bowl game is a good possibility.

  8. Jimmy Barbee Says:

I would like to extend congratulation to MSU allowing Ole Miss the use of Mitch Moreland name. Brotherly love, thanks, State. Could possible be some advantage in upcoming recruitment.

  9. bigdraws Says:

Yeah JB, Gregg took some flack for that today. He blamed it on the fact that he was on vacation. But who printed that? That was pure ignorance.

  10. djrebel Says:

Guys, I’ll tell you, that kind of stuff just happens easier than you think on the copy desk.

It’s not acceptable, we don’t condone, it and we try to correct it.

But what you have on the copy desk is workers who have a broad base of knowledge of many different players and teams but not the intense knowledge of one team that Gregg and I have. Sometimes you slip.

This is not an excuse but an explanation.

We feel like we’re actually pretty strong on the copy desk with many fewer head busts and errors than we had a couple of years ago.

Not a big deal, PA, I rather like for the Rebels to get credit of Moreland’s talent. Maybe, that will wing one highly talented prospect in Ole Miss direction.

Have a good day in Oxford. Handy Andy N Lamar use to serve a great barbecue sandwich, the Country Store down by the Hospital good hamburgers.

  12. djrebel Says:

I think both of those places are still kicking, Jimmy. I know Handy Andy is. I don’t make it south of Highway 6 much, although I did visit with Billy Brewer in his home that direction for an interview last year.
