FOOTBALL: Who will be this year’s Kansas?

Here’s one newspaper’s account of a group of six that could surprise. It includes one team, not Ole Miss, from the SEC.

I don’t think that one team from the SEC is/are will be “Kansas”. Neither the Ole Miss team as well. The Rebs will be much improved over last season, but not winning over eight games this season.
MSU, if they keep the guys in line down there, in my opinion, will be much improved. That is, IF,IF,IF, that non-productive offense gets off their behinds and helps the defense out.

Agreed JB, won’t be us. Won’t be State either though, not enough offense to carry them IMO. I say if there is a sleeper in the league, it’s South Carolina or Bama

I agree with OR. I think that Bama will be the one to step us this year.

    Correction: “step UP.”

I think Arkansas has the potential to shock some people. No one is expecting anything out of them, but who knows with a new system.

Bama always has the recruits and $ to be at the top. There are always huge expectations for Saban and all that money, but I don’t think they will compete with Auburn or LSU.

State could be an improved team, but finish with a worse record. They beat Bama, AU, and us by getting some big breaks.

USC could be a surprise, but the East is too tough, IMO. I predicted us to beat them in Oxford?
