FOOTBALL: Surgery for Hardy?

Chuck Rounsaville at the Ole Miss Spirit is reporting defensive end Greg Hardy will have foot surgery later today. Chuck cites a family source. Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt is expected to address Hardy’s situation this evening following the team’s practice.

Hardy put together a couple of good workouts at the beginning of last week, but was sitting out later in the week with what was originally described as a precautionary measure for a foot injury. It was not believed to be serious at the time, but that obviously changed.

More on this as it becomes available.

    Thanks Dwayne!

  2. Mooch Says:

Per an official release on OleMissSports.com, Hardy had outpatient surgery to repair a stress fracture, out 6-8 weeks.

  3. john Says:

if he is out 6 weeks: he misses first 4 games: Mem, Wake, Sam, Vandy
if he is out 7 weeks: he misses the above 4 and Florida
if he is out 8 weeks: he misses the above and S. Carolina

They maybe shooting for a return on Oct 18 b/c there is an open date between Carolina and Alabama. The best scenario is back after 6 weeks, of course as we will be favored in 3 of those 4 games anyway.
