BASEBALL: Bittle deadline tomorrow

Ole Miss pitcher Scott Bittle hasn’t returned calls lately, probably because there’s not much to say. He wants to sign with the Yankees, but there’s an impasse over the issue of their diagnosis of his shoulder. Yankee’s GM Brian Cashman says they don’t “draft player not to sign them,” and the Yankees signed a slew of picks at the deadline last year. Apparently this fella at MLB.com wasn’t able to reach Bittle either. After a phenomenal season with the Rebels, Bittle was the Yankees’ third pick in June.

I feel bad for Bittle being stuck in this situation. I can’t say that I hate it though, it would be great if he decided to come back for another season, especially with the way our pitching staff is looking right now.

Rivals is reporting that Bittle will likely be back at Ole Miss and not sign with the Yanks

That’s been the feeling for quite some time, but Bittle has until midnight tomorrow to make a decision, and you never know what the Yankees might do. I’m guessing he’s back.
