FOOTBALL: Tuesday practice notes

— No defensive linemen fell out in today’s open portion of practice, although freshman Justin Smith appeared to be playing through some sort of pain.

— With Peria Jerry out Smith was running second team. Sophomore Lawon Scott was first team nose tackle. The rest of the starting line had Kentrell Lockett and Emmanuel Stephens at the ends and Marcus Tillman at tackle.

— One interesting depth chart development was the move of Jerrell Powe to second team nose tackle.

— On the offensive side, guard Reid Neely was back and was running first team on the right side but only because starting guard Maurice Miller was absent to attend a funeral.

Good to hear that Neeley is back. Is Snead still sharp?

Hey Larry. Snead is still sharp. The last question with him is game speed. I believe he’ll be fine.
