FOOTBALL: Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson

Here’s what Bobby Johnson had to say on the SEC teleconference about the Commodores’ visit to Ole Miss Saturday.

Our team is working hard and getting ready to play an extremely tough game down in Oxford.

(What have been the keys to your 3-0 start?)
We’ve been fairly good in all phases. Special teams have made some big plays. Our defense played extremely well the first two games and the last half of the third game. The offense has been steady and been very good in the red zone. Turnovers have been on our side, and if you keep those things going for you, you have a chance to win.

(Can you talk a little bit about the second-half comebacks you guys have had?)
Sometimes it’s just circumstances. You’d like to say it was adjustments and coaching, but that’s not always the case. Against South Carolina we got some breaks and took advantage of them, what you have to do.

Bob, get ready for your first L.

rebelfan, I sure hope that you are correct. The USAToday gives Ole Miss a 7 point advantage. This really don’t mean too much and can’t read something into it. Last week they gave Auburn an eight point advantage over Miss State. We see what a choatic game and outcome that was.
