FOOTBALL: He makes the Commodores run

Vanderbilt quarterback Chris Nickson has battled back from an injury-plagued 2007 season with a fast start in 2008. It’s all about the ground game for Nickson, who has yet to pass for 100 yards in a game. Part of that has to do with health at wide receiver. Look for the Commodores to throw the ball to two-way multi-threat DJ Moore Saturday. Moore’s primary position is cornerback. He’s carried the ball on offense but hasn’t caught a pass. He’s a gifted athlete. Vandy basketball coach Kevin Stallings says Moore may be the best point guard on campus, though he isn’t on the basketball team.
