The old camera phone takes a few decent shots when the sun is right. Top, Ole Miss quarterback Jevan Snead gets a handshake as the celebration in the southwest corner of the Swamp rolls on.

Snead was not brilliant, but he was efficient. Offensive coordinator Kent Austin was very please, saying “He got him one.”

Translation, this win meant the world to this team, but perhaps it meant no more to any individual than it did Snead, who had struggled with interceptions the last two weeks. Snead threw only one pick Saturday, and that was when he was hit while throwing.

He threw two touchdown passes, his first TDs since Wake Forest.

In the top photo safeties Jamarca Sanford and Kendrick Lewis share a walk off the field together. They are two of the team’s leading tacklers, and that was true again against the Gators, as Sanford had a team-high 11, and Lewis had nine.

Lewis couldn’t tackle very well at all last season, but he’s made a dramatic turnaround in that department.

Linebacker Tony Fein was second today with 10 tackles.

How stunned were the Gator people PA?

  2. djrebel Says:

Quite stunned Farley. It was jaw-dropping for them. On fourth-and-1 they were yelling, “Tebow, Tebow …” They never dreamed he might not gain his 1 yard.

I love Tim Teow as an individual and as an athlete. However, reading the AP article of his comments after the game in the press conference disappoints me-
“This will motivate me personally and I believe everybody else, the coaches and the rest of the players, to never let something like this happen again, especially when we feel we’re better than a team and don’t play up to our ability.”

The part, “…especially when we feel we’re better than a team…” could be a major part of the problem. You should never take anyone lightly, and apparently that is what he/they did.

I guess I was just looking for him to say something like “congrats to the Rebels, they were the better team today” or “we totally underestimated them” or something.

I’m thrilled with the win and always the opportunity to see the arrogant Urban Meyer knocked down a level or so. His handshake at the end of the game with Coach Nutt was totally classless!

I believe I read somewhere that pride goes before the fall!

Will, I agree on the handshake. My wife and I were watching together when they met up for the shake. She said, “He doesn’t take losing very well does he?” I told her, apparently not. It’s very easy to show class when you win, but the true character of a man is shown when he is confronted with defeat. I guess we got a little insight into the personality of Urban. Once again, congratulations to you guys from bulldog land.

  5. Jimmy Barbee Says:

I always thought that Urban Meyer thought of himself as high on a royal pedestal. Thought Tebow had better class, but guess not. His parents Christian Missionary and believe Tebow to be a devoted Christian. Don’t think that anyone would have ever hearing Danny Warfel making a statement like that.
