FOOTBALL: Tuesday practice notes

Defensive end Greg Hardy was dressed in shoulder pads and shorts, as was the rest of the team, and was out for stretching a few minutes ago but didn’t look like he was near full strength.

We’ll get an update from Houston after practice.

Lawon Scott continues to run first team at defensive tackle ahead of Ted Laurent. Laurent was one of the three August surgeries but got off to a really fast start and has seven tackles for loss this season. Scott played the bulk of those defensive tackle snaps at Arkansas and had two stops.

Reid Neely drew his first start of the season at guard ahead of the injured Darryl Harris. Harris continues to wear the brace on his elbow and is available, but Neely is holding the starting job right now.

Safety Jamarca Sanford was at practice with his right arm wrapped up. He took a hit on it and missed much of the game in Fayetteville.

Among the cornerback competition Marshay Green continues to hold the spot ahead of Dustin Mouzon. Today is the first real day of practice this week, so if any movement comes it would likely be later in the week.
