HOOPS: Kennedy presser

Here’s Andy Kennedy’s audio from the Monday press conference. Kennedy is a laid back guy. His personality helps him have a good rapport with the media. He has enough self-confidence in his coaching to give us his honest assessment of the program. He doesn’t open practices, because he likes that private setting with the players, but he doesn’t mind telling us what’s going on. We see enough of the program to have an idea if he’s telling whoppers, and that doesn’t appear to be the case.

i’m super excited about the start of basketball season…..i’m just as much of a fan of the bball team as i am the football team. i have a feeling they’ll win the west this year if they have production from the new guys as predicted.

andy kennedy appears to be a class act. for sure he has done a great job with our team. here’s hoping for a really good season this year. by the way, does he plan to play any more games in the desoto civic center? hope so. it is hard to get to oxford for the late night games.

Ole Miss plays Southern Miss in Biloxi this season. I don’t think any off-campus in-state games are scheduled beyond that at this time.

i saw them play in jackson last year. it was a great game and a good chance of pace for the team to be away from home but still have the fan base in their corner.

PA, To answer Paul Kelly’s question, the third game in the series with Southern Miss will be played in The Big House at Jackson in 2009.

  6. djrebel Says:

Thanks Ripley. I forgot there was a third game. I always try to forget trips to that Big House.
