That old coach brought glory, pride, and accomplishment to the Ole Miss Rebel’s program that will never be repeated. A great and tremendous job well done Coach Johnny Vaught.

That statue doesn’t do justice what he actually did for our program in his lifetime. A thousand statues wouldn’t be enough payment, but this is a great tribute to him and his legacy. Very nice.

Great idea. I’ve been saying for years that State should do something like that for Jack Cristil. I guess it’ll take the man dying before we’ll realize how iconic he was for the university.

Draws I like the Jack statue idea. When the time comes I hope they do him up right.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is long overdue. If Jack keeps smoking like he does it may not be long bigdraws.

  6. bigdraws Says:

Dunno. He’s been smoking for a looooong time and it ain’t got him yet. Once heard a guy tell him, “Jack we care about you and think you should quit smoking so we can have you around for a good while.” Jack thought about it and responded, “Well, my grandad lived to be a very old man.” The guy looks surprised and says, “He smoked too?” To which Jack says, “No. He minded his own damn business.”

Draws, that’s classic Jack. I consider him a friend and have many, many stories I could tell, but a lot of them would contradict my family friendly policy.
