FOOTBALL: Food for thought on ULM

Since first running with the big dogs in 1994, the University formerly known as Northeast Louisiana is 3-31-1 against the SEC.

Two of those wins came early on. The Indians defeated Bill Curry and Kentucky in 1994 and defeated Jackie Sherrill and Mississippi State in 1995.

At some point in time the name changed, and the La.-Monroe Warhawks defeated Nick Saban and Alabama in 2007. The Tide lost to Auburn the next week and has since won 11 straight.

Looks like those final 2 losses last year may have been a motivational factor that has lead to Bama turning into the beast that they are. Looked like a bad loss at the time, but who knows, they might not be where they are this season if not for the wake-up call that that game provided them.
