FOOTBALL: Improving defense

Much of the credit in Ole Miss’ four-game win streak goes to the defense. The run defense has been there all season, but the secondary — especially free safety Kendrick Lewis — has begun to finish some big plays with interceptions. The Rebels have begun to climb in the SEC defensive stats, most notably points allowed. They’ve given up just 6.6 points a game over the last three games, 10.2 over the last four.
