FOOTBALL: Judgment Day

Fall semester grades are due at the close of business today. Those who didn’t meet requirements will not be eligible to play in the Cotton Bowl Jan. 2.

Houston Nutt’s answer on how many that might be was sort of gray earlier this week. I’m hearing a couple, possibly a starter. These are numbers that are much more normal across college football.

Having about 30 players academically ineligible at the close of the fall semester, as was the case last year, is not normal.

As long as it’s not Jerry, Snead, Oher, Wallace, McCluster, Lewis, or Sanford, I think we can get by (hopefully)

PA, what names came up around you? The starter and the others…If you can’t say names, can you maybe say a position they play…? Haha, sorry, I just can’t wait to find out, we need everybody for this game against TT. Also, a big recruiting weekend for us…you think Rodney Scott will committ? If so, I don’t think we need to put up the fight for Bumphis any longer…

I have not heard a name and would not post a name. Would hate to be wrong and embarrass a player with something like that. Don’t know about Scott. I’ve seen Bumphis several times. He’s really good. Throughout this process I’d heard him leaning to Florida more than anywhere else, so it won’t be shocking if he signs with State.
