That was a great story….and gave a lot of insight into what a coach has to do this time of year.

  2. djrebel Says:

It was a good read. Interesting to see him dance around the prospects’ names. NCAA rules prohibit a coach from commenting directly on an unsigned prospect. People who follow recruiting know who Dienhart’s talking about.

I know that I have seen it before, but forgot, Just when is signing day?

  4. Charles Says:

Feb. 4th is signing day. I think that is next Wednesday. It was a good article. I’m glad to see Markuson still talking with Massie. Does anyone know if Nutt still has an in-home visit left with Massie?

just saw on rivals that pat patterson will announce at 9 on tuesday morning and that he is closer to making up his mind hours after talking to coach nix and a day after talking to coach saban. sounds like us and the elephants are his top 2 since he said that before going to tenn

That was a great article. Interesting that Oher and Markuson are that close. Interesting Oher said he was dominating in Mobile, I saw a few clips of Cushing from USC puttin’ it on him.
Is Columbus in Nouxbee County? Why was Nix the guy making the visit to Patterson from our staff, when Sabear is making the 45 minute drive (or so) from Tuscaloosa? That’s a little scary. No shot at Nix but does that send a message to the kid that he is important enough for the HC at Bama to come visit, and the RB coach is coming to visit him from Ole Miss. Maybe Nutt has already visited his quota or something….

Hey Matt, off topic here. But what are the rumors going around over there about the bama bb coach? I’m hearing Mike Davis.

Hey would anyone know anything about the wr from ks.. think hes a jc kid.. scout has him a 4 star wr with alot of intrest in ole miss. his name is tyrece gaines i think… we get him and patterson or brown and we would look very very good at wide out which i think we could do good with our upcomin class as well but with their talent added.. wow…

  9. david Says:

i heard gaines to okla or the great mid west and OR

  10. rebel2011 Says:

Matt i think Nutt has already had his in home visit with him which means he can’t go anymore.

  11. m4rebs Says:

Thanks 2011. Odd that Sabear has waited till now to go see him.

Draws – I thought Davis would be a no-brainer, however, there are sticky circumstances associated with taking a guy that is at UAB and sending them to UAT, seriously. Both schools have a common Board of Trustees in which sets up like a conflict of interest type situation. It stinks for Davis because he is a UAT guy and I think took the UAB job to get back to Alabama, regardless if he realized what that meant to him getting over to Tuscaloosa. The rock jox keep bringing up Bobby Knight, but we all know it is just to ATTEMPT to generate interest in the Alabama job. It’ll be interesting to see where this story develops, but I don’t think they have anyone locked in at this point. They may not really care though, basketball is way back on the agenda for Alabama, otherwise, Wimp Sanderson would still be coaching here. If they can cover for Mike Dubose and a secretary, don’t you think they could cover for Wimp? You make examples out of the basketball program here in Tuscaloosa, not football; that’s obvious from SEC championship winning by Dubose versus Wimp. Just my 2 cents Draws…enjoy.

David, is that Oregon, in the great mid west, also known as Oklahoma State? Or Oregon in the Great Pacific Northwest?

  13. bigdraws Says:

Matt, it’s quite obvious they only care about football over there. They have one of the winningest baseball programs in sec history and don’t get a look. Jim Wells quit last year bc of lack of support from the athletic dept. Came back bc he didn’t have anything else to do.

  14. m4rebs Says:

I work with a lady that is close to the Wells’ family. It seems that it is difficult to get all the egos in the same room when Mal Moore has a staff meeting. Usually, it’s just 1 member in there with Mal that fills the room. You probably can guess who that may be. If not, I’ll give you a hint, it’s the guy that gets his stylist to come cut his hair, in his office, without one word spoken to him because he is thinking about his job and may lose track of his thought.
