HOOPS: Today’s Game

Tide rising — a little — for interim coach

Alabama at Ole Miss
When: 3 p.m. today, Tad Smith Coliseum
TV: Raycom. Live video streaming at ESPN360.com.
XM: 200.
Series: Alabama leads 114-49.
Earlier this year: Alabama won 76-73 in Tuscaloosa on Jan. 21.
Coaches: Ole Miss – Andy Kennedy (81-49, third year; 60-36 in third season at Ole Miss). Alabama – Phillip Pearson (3-5 as interim coach).
Notes: The series is tied at 37 in Oxford, and Ole Miss has won nine of the last 11 against Alabama at home. … Pearson was a walk-on guard under former Alabama coach Wimp Sanderson. … An Ole Miss loss will create a fourth-place tie in the West and will swing the head-to-head tie-breaker to Alabama.

I say that Ole Miss wins this one,
    Ole Miss 89
    Alabama 70
If Ole Miss can get that close to Alabama on the road, then they can beat
Alabama at home. It just helps you to play at home. I think that the player of the game for the Rebels will be Malcom White, because of all of those rebounds that he will get today. He will also have another 20 rebound game.
THE REST OF PLAYERS SCORES RIGHT HERE
    Terrico White 20
    David Huertas 21
    Will Bogan 5
    DeAundrea Cranston 7
    Malcom White 10
    Murphy Holloway 10
    Zach Grahm 11
    Terrence Henry 5

  2. rebel2011 Says:

we would have to score 109 points for your scoring to be right kyle.

  3. rebel2011 Says:

sorry about the confusion I saw the 20 for malcolm at the top and counted it and didn’t realize you have him 10 at the bottomseer and I counted both so you were right my mistake.

  4. m4rebs Says:

2011, you in Cal 2 at Ole Miss yet? I know the derivatives get in the way of simple math, but kylebuddy is only in like 5th grade. You know he’s kin to the “boss” of this site, right?

  5. ripleyreb Says:

kylebuddy, hope your predictions are on the money. Are you going to make the game today? I’ll be there, cheering for the Rebs and offering advice to the refs. GO REBELS !!!!!

  6. rebel2011 Says:

matt i am actually in cal 4 right now and it seems like i can’t even do simple math anymore because with all of these integrals and greek symbols it seems more like heiroglyphics than math. I apologize again kyle.

  7. oxfordrebel Says:

Anyone know if the baseball games are on the radio today?

  8. oxfordrebel Says:

In the Tupelo/Corinth area that is.

  9. m4rebs Says:

Yeah, I remember Cal 4, it wasn’t too bad b/c I had Patterson. Cal 3 with Miller wasn’t fun though.

Baseball not looking too good again. We’re down 6-4 in the 5th. Know there’s alot of game to play, but we are giving up alot more runs than I was thinking we would. Pitching doesn’t appear to be our strong suit in the non-conference games anyway. I hope we are keeping some arms in the cupboard to pull out when it’s “for-real.”

  10. m4rebs Says:

Found the baseball game streaming online through TCU sports radio network. KTCU radio. Found it navigating through the TCU athletic site. Hope this helps some folks.

  11. m4rebs Says:

Just stranded 2 on in the bottom of the 5th; 1st & 3rd. Still down 6-4.

  12. rebel2011 Says:

Thanks, Matt. I was just about to listen to it but saw the score is 10-4 so that one would not be too fun to listen to. So i might listen to the second game later on if its not out of hand.

  13. m4rebs Says:

We just gave up 2 more (to make it 10-4) on a throwing error by Ferguson. Is Evan Button not “working out?”

  14. rebel2011 Says:

Evan Button pulled a hamstring either on Sunday or Tuesday and is supposed to be out 2 to 3 weeks. I sure wish Ferguson was better in the field because he sure gives us a spark in the lineup

  15. rebel2011 Says:

Rebs right back in it now. Bianco put the freshman lefty Matt Snyder in to pinch hit for Basham with the wind blowing out to right and Snyder makes Bianco look like a genius with a 3 run homer to right. 10-7 now still batting in bottom of 6th.

  16. m4rebs Says:

Brilliant move by Bianco on the pinch hitter with Snyder. As sloppy as it is out there, this one may be in the teens each. Looks like we just got another one across. The TCU Radio guy is amazed that we are fighting back. He’s by himself in the booth, and I can’t see how he’ll be able to call a double-header. Baseball is hard to call with 2 guys, much less by yourself. Don’t envy him at all. 37 and rainy…..bet there’s a huge crowd at Swayze today. PA, you opting for indoors and 72 instead of the top 25 baseball team?

Another error and we are within 1.

  17. rebel2011 Says:

yeah Matt thanks for the radio link even down by 6 I still had faith and listened to it and it does seem like the radio guy is pretty lonely up there. Doesn’t sound like he is too excited about the situation he is in.

  18. m4rebs Says:

In trouble again. Bases loaded, 1 out.

Your welcome for the link 2011. Gotta share when you find something for free, you know? Help a brother out….

  19. m4rebs Says:

    Grand salami….Horned Frogs…..unreal.

  20. rebel2011 Says:

well the radio guy really is hoping he just said that he doubts that they will play the second game… sounds like wishful thinking to me.

  21. rebel2011 Says:

with the way the scoring is going, I think that this game is far from over… even at 14-9 now

  22. m4rebs Says:

I was about to type the same thing 2011, then the Salami. I retracted that statement at that point. If he had any sense, he’d want to play 4 games today.

  23. rebel2011 Says:

    check that… 15-9

  24. m4rebs Says:

We just got compared to Dallas Baptist….new low for the baseball team.

  25. rebel2011 Says:

yeah, now we are right back to where we were before last inning started… down 6 again

  26. m4rebs Says:

They’ve batted around. Just when you start feeling better about things.

  27. m4rebs Says:

17-9 TCU. You still listening 2011 or given up?

  28. rebel2011 Says:

I am still listening but not sure why… I guess I am just too big of a fan to think that we don’t have a chance. Although the fact that we have 2 outs and nobody on in the 7th is not a good sign. Down 8 runs with only 7 more outs to go.

  29. rebel2011 Says:

I do think that TCU is a very good team though, as they went to Cal State Fullerton, a top 10 team last weekend, and took 2 out of 3. I think that they will have an extremely good season.

  30. m4rebs Says:

I agree. They will be pretty good. We aren’t that good. As I mentioned in a post last weekend, I think Bianco knew we weren’t going to be as good this year as the expectations. Starting in the top 10 puts a big target on you right out of the gate, especially when you don’t have the horses to push you through the tougher times. We will be ok, but not hosting a regional again this year is my expectation.

  31. rebel2011 Says:

Rebels bat 5 straight pinch hitters to start the 8th inning. The result… 3 runs. This is a crazy game. 30 runs and Rebs trail 18-12 headed to 9th inning

  32. m4rebs Says:

Piss poor game for the Rebels.
