FYI: Change is coming

We voted for change in November, and change is coming.

Well, this isn’t exactly the change we voted for I guess, but we are moving to a new website for the Daily Journal. We’re running parallel sites right now, but we’ll soon finish up with The new site is called It’s running right now, and you can view it at that address.

We have some content up there now, and more will be added on a daily basis.

Eventually, probably by the middle of this month, this blog will move to Very little will change when that happens. The blog will no longer be hosted by WordPress. It will be presented near the sports stories at You’ll be able to find it just a click away under a “community” heading.

Oxford Rebel, if you’re reading this, please disregard the baseball header for this blog. The blogs will be uniform at, and there will be no place for a custom header.

I don’t see many drawbacks beyond that. Our online folks are continuing to learn their way about NeMs360 and are working out the kinks. Eventually we hope the move will make photos, audio and video something more easily attained on the blogs.

While these WordPress blogs will be active a while longer, we encourage users to check out, and go ahead and create a user profile.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Sounds like the end for me and my old buddy, the Outlaw Clint Eastwood. Clint did say the other day that political correctness is a bunch of _____! So I guess me and the old outlaw can’t change with the times and its adios. One other thing tho, Ima, does it really sound gay!!!

imo, djournal is becoming like every other newspaper

Spear, can you clarify that? How are we becoming like every other newspaper. There are some decisions being made right now that are a reflection on the economy. We are, however, still out and covering a number of events that some papers aren’t.

The new blog system will still have the same information from Parrish that will be easier to find. It is hard to see that right now, because as Parrish mentioned his blog isn’t up yet at the other site. There will be photos and video can be added as well, so your right redstickrebel they are not big changes.

Plus we’ve heard from a number of users that wordpress is blocked when they try to read it and that should not be a problem as we move forward. Just like when we moved from livejournal to wordpress we think this move will improve the user experience.

Thanks for taking part and hope you give us a try at the new site.

Will do on the header PA, if you do come to a point where you need any graphics for your new blog, just holler.

Hate to see y’all giving up wordpress. Nice site me thinks.

OR, I appreciate your support. If this works out like we think it will, the custom header will be the only change. We’re hoping as we move down the line that it will become easier to post some different things. We’re excited about the potential of

PA, I was jus kidding around.

The Journal does a pretty good job with its local emphasis and its national coverage as well.

I was just alluding to the fact a big “super” site has been created. Like many big town papers have. One thing I like about the Journal is its down home coverage and hope that won’t change as it becomes more computer savvy.

Other than that jus joking, PA keep up the good work!

Don’t have a dog in this fight, but it does seems that the DJ does track CNN in polls.
