BASEBALL: Ole Miss 8, Austin Peay 7

David Phillips walk-off home run on the first pitch in the bottom of the ninth wins it for Ole Miss. Rough outing for Scott Bittle, who gave up two runs on three hits in the top of the inning.

The Governors came in at 5-6 with two wins over Iowa and one over Tennessee.

Same two teams tonight at 6:30.

    Once again, infield errors about lose us a game. If we can’t get our roles figured out soon, we’ll be in trouble come conference play.

    The infield was very shaken up last night with Ferguson taken out by Bianco after the first inning (due to a bad at bat), Miller being out of his new comfort zone, and Snyder playing third followed by Williams. Other than one inning the errors were minimal. Not trying to make excuses by any means, just putting this into context.

    We take it! Its a win and David Phillips is the hero of the day for the Rebels and me.

    scott bittle don”t seem to be piching as well as last year, early on

    I think Scott will get back. Rebs got to cut down on those errors and believe they will. This is a good experienced team. Sr. and Jr. Just a little more time for them.
